When building emails in Chamaileon, it’s essential to ensure your design and content look perfect before they hit your audience’s inbox. While test emails are a quick and convenient way to check your work, leveraging Shared Previews or the Review & Approval Workflow with commenting provides a more collaborative and professional approach to email review.

Test Emails for Quick Checks

What Are Test Emails?

Test emails let you see how your email looks in an inbox by sending it to yourself or others. This feature is ideal for quick checks to confirm:

  • Formatting and styling

  • Subject lines and preview text

How to Send a Test Email

You can send test emails from both the email editor interface and the dashboard:

  1. Click the Share button/menu.

  2. Select Test Email.

  3. By default, the test email is sent to your logged-in email address.

  4. Optionally, you can:

    • Add multiple recipients by entering their email addresses.

    • Customize the subject line for the test email.

Tip: Ensure all recipients are familiar with the test purpose to avoid confusion!

Then click ''Send test email''.

From the dashboard:

Why Shared Previews and Review & Approval Workflows Are Better

Shared previews provide a live view of your email, which is perfect for sharing designs with stakeholders. They ensure everyone sees the same version without having to send multiple test emails.

Benefits of Shared Previews:

  • Quick sharing via a unique link

  • Viewable on any device or browser

  • Ensures team alignment

  • The ability for branded preview screen and custom domain (white-label experience)

For teams aiming for professional collaboration, Chamaileon’s Review & Approval Workflow is the ultimate choice. It enables reviewers to add comments directly to the email design, streamlining the feedback process.

Key Features:

  • Add comments directly to email sections.

  • Track approvals in real time.

  • Avoid scattered feedback from email chains.
