Keeping track of your email's size is essential, especially if you want to avoid Gmail's 104KB clipping limit.

Chamaileon shows you the size of your email designs in all related workflows and ensures your design remains within limits.

Where to Find the Email Size Checker

You can check your email’s size in several places while working with emails in Chamaileon:

    • Navigate to the Email Settings, where you’ll find the current size of your email.

    • The size is displayed with a color indicator (green, yellow, red) to easily assess if you are within acceptable limits.

  1. Export or Sync Workflows:

    • During the Export or Sync workflows, you can also view the email size. The size information appears in the middle of the modal, above the Email settings with a color-coded alert.

How the Size Checker Works

The size checker uses a traffic light system to help you quickly understand if your email is approaching Gmail's 104KB limit:

  • Green: Your email size is well within limits.

  • Yellow: Your email is nearing the 104KB Gmail limit, consider optimizing.

  • Red: Your email size exceeds 104KB and may be clipped in Gmail.

Re-checking Email Size After Changes

If you make any changes to your email, especially using the Email Settings, you can re-check the size to ensure it stays within the desired range.

This is useful when finalizing designs or adding new elements.

Why Email Size Matters

Keeping your email size under 104KB is crucial to prevent Gmail from clipping your emails. This limit applies to HTML files, so having a tool like Chamaileon’s built-in size checker helps you maintain deliverability and user experience.

Summary

With Chamaileon’s email size checker, you can easily monitor the size of your email across different stages—whether during setup in Email Settings or while exporting and syncing your work.

The clear color indicators help you stay within size limits, ensuring your emails display correctly without being clipped.
