To insert a hyperlink into your text in Chamaileon:

  1. Highlight the text you want to make clickable.

  2. Click on the hyperlink icon in the floating text-style editor.

  3. Paste your URL into the field and click "OK".

Formatting Your Link

Once your link is inserted, you can customize how it looks in two places:

1. 🛠️ Text-style editor (inline popup)

  • Use this to:

    • Add or remove the link

    • Change text color

    • Toggle bold, italic, or underline

2. 🎨 Right-side Details Panel

  • When your text element is selected, you’ll find a “Link” section:

    • Underline switch — turn the underline on or off

    • 🎨 Link color picker — set the color of both text and underline

💡 If you're trying to set a different underline color (e.g. black text with a gray underline), Chamaileon lets you do this per text element. Just set the underline color in the right-side Details panel, then select the link and set a different color for it using the floating text-style editor.

Rendering Issues & Compatibility

Some email clients, especially Outlook, may override your custom link styles (e.g. forcing blue underlines). Chamaileon includes built-in coding fixes for many of these issues, but full control isn't always possible.

📌 Tip: For more consistent styling across clients, test your email using the “Send Test” feature, and preview it in multiple clients. If you notice issues, refer to this article: Rendering Issues in Outlook and How to Fix Them

Advanced Tips

  • Button workaround for custom underlines: If you need a custom underline style that isn't supported by text links, consider using a button element and styling it to look like inline text.

  • Save time with Blocks: Create a styled link once, save it as a block, and reuse it in future emails.
